Girls Farm Camp

Girls Farm is a two week-long summer camp designed for young women (15-18 yrs old) of Providence.  Every day for two weeks, campers gather at our city garden and take the bus to Seekonk, where we spend the day doing farm work, preparing lunch with vegetables from the farm, and learning from each other and from the earth. Besides participating in all the activities of a working farm (harvesting, planting, weeding, caring for our pigs and chickens), campers have the opportunity to learn other skills that interest them such as herbal medicine and simple building. We have conversations about justice and care. We water the seed of the radical nurturer in each of us.

The inaugural Girls Farm Camp in 2016 hosted 8 amazing teens and included art projects with natural media, a plant walk with an incredible ethno-botanist, a field trip to Movement Ground Farm, pickle making and lessons in food preservation, and mindful movement and reflection.

Girls Farm 2017 begins July 31 with thirteen new campers!
